Pocket Lint Traipse / The Worst Could Happen / Stick to Your Resolutions

Sit here on this dusty throne
With tired hands in cuffs
When hired clowns come gruff and groan
You'll say you've had enough
For now

So keep the chair and rusted chains
Let's just call it square
I stole some jewels and gems as claims
I knew you wouldn't care
About

'Cause after all you said it best
To leave it all to chance
Thus scrapped my plans, I'm headed west
First, how 'bout one more dance
For me?

I hear it's warm out by the sea
And cool along the coast
I'll call a toast to being free
Ain't that the way it's s'posed
To be?

Can't go, won't go
Back to that old town

Can't go, won't go
Barely made it out
Alive

Brimstone Blues

Fire blazing
All of these monuments will fall
I brought daisies
Remember that fire we made in the fall?
The sky was hazy
And I was hoping that some of your grace would fall
My way

People running
To the sound of the megaphone blow
You were stunning
But I had no clue it'd be such a blow
Dew-eyed honey
I was praying that some of your love would blow
My way

Last week's paper
Urging all citizens to go
Meet a maker
Looks like we have six minutes to go
Wide-eyed waker
Nothing ever seems to want to go
My way
My way

My way

Ever-Blue

Even if that wooden horse ain't for gifts
For the love of Christ you could at least plead the fifth (my love)
In the name of health and all that's whole, try me true
And I'll get on with what it is I've got to do (my love)

I'm calling your name
I'm calling on high
I'm calling on you
The ever-blue moon and the sky

Love Is a Notion

There I was beating my drum
With the heel of my thumb
When it all came undone and
Oh Lord, the thunder did roar
When it rains, it pours
Shells from the sky in the bunker of war
But what drove me out of control
Was giving my heart
For the demand of my soul
Just then a trigger was pulled
As she spoke through the smoke of a cigarette pull:

All love is a notion
Imagineerings of fools
All love is a notion
You're only playing to lose

My god, I must've been shook
When my pawn was took
I moved up on her rook but
Born from original sin
The physics kicked in
Like a smoking gun, red lips on my chin and
Maybe it's destiny's turn
Let a lesson be learned
Let the recipe churn up
With just a flick of a wrist
She painted me blue
It wasn't a Matisse but it looked like this:

All love is a notion
Imagineerings of fools
All love is a notion
You're only playing to lose

Baby Locomotive

I been stranded
Empty handed
Generally, I been feelin' not myself
My father put two cents in:
"Sonny, you got to listen
At the very least you got your health"

I was thinkin' it over when
Somethin' took me over, some
Bittersweet dew-eyed surprise
And I been stealin'
Some sacred feelin'
To whom should I apologize

Locomotive
Won't you roll my blues away
Baby baby locomotive
I don't want to miss my train

All those back halls
All that asphalt
All those traffic lights ahead

Life is ready
Love is heavy
I feel half as light instead

Locomotive
Won't you roll my blues away
Baby baby locomotive
I don't want to miss my train
